KINGDOM LISTENING CD

Spending one-on-one time with God is something few of us do on a regular basis and something that can be really challenging. Here are a few tips to help get you started as you listen (and hopefully
re-listen) to this CD:

1. Begin by emptying your mind of distractions. Write down a list of any thoughts that come to mind that remind you to go do anything. Set it aside.

2. Take a moment to breathe deeply, quiet yourself and tell God, “If there’s anything you want to teach me or say to me in this time, I that you would. I’m listening.”

3. Play the CD. Listen and be receptive. Don’t feel guilty if a list of chores pops back into your head at some point. It’s not about how often your mind wanders, but how often you come back to listening.

4. Visualize your favorite place. Imagine Jesus beside you, listening and talking. What is He saying? God created your imagination to be a multimedia theater that He can use to communicate with us.

5. Listen and receive. After 10 minutes or so, write down whatever comes to mind, no matter what it is. Stop writing after a few minutes and listen some more.

Most importantly, tell God that if there’s anything He wants you to have, then you want to receive it. The more you do this, the easier it will become.
