connect with God.
A Time of Service We want to provide opportunities for you to live out your faith and express your gifts by becoming involved in an area of

Life often produces overwhelming challenges for which we are not prepared. The Life Skills Ministry of River Cities Church desires to equip people to grow through life's challenges. We approach problem solving relying on the truth of Scripture and the empowerment of God's Holy Spirit. We seek to equip people through one-on-one mentoring and coaching, special needs support groups, as well as classes on particular topics. The Life Skills Ministry networks with healthcare providers as needed.
Life Skills Director, Beth Calvert, has received training through avenues of secular schools, seminary training and professional continuing education. Her experience has been gained through church and para-church ministries, as well as educational positions. She is a member of the Association of Christian Counselors with professional/clinical status.

who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. Don’t go through separation or divorce alone. DivorceCare seminars and support groups are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. You’ll gain access to valuable DivorceCare resources to help you deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life. Each DivorceCare session has two distinct elements:
A Seminar with Experts
During the first 30-40 minutes of the meeting, each DivorceCare group watches a video seminar featuring top experts on divorce and recovery subjects. These videos are produced in an interesting-to-watch television magazine format featuring expert interviews, real-life case studies and on-location video.
A Support Group with Focus
After viewing the video, DivorceCare group participants spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week's video seminar and what is going on in the lives of group members.
pain caused by a separation or divorce. DC4K provides children with a safe and neutral place to recognize and learn to share their feelings.
For 13 weeks children become involved in a fun, caring group. The weekly session topics help your children learn that God’s love strengthens them and helps them turn their sadness to hope and their anger to joy.
Each session is filled with motivating and exciting activities. Games, crafts, role playing, discussion times, journaling and workbooks help children process the divorce and move forward in their lives. The music CDs, snacks, read aloud stories, exercises and Bible verses teach children to relax and rest secure in God’s love. The "Kids Like Me" and "Stories from the Bible" video dramas present stories of children just like your children, who are experiencing divorce-related problems and have found help and encouragement.
DC4K is a powerful ministry for kids 5–12 years of age.
